We recently finished a garage conversion into an office space. This conversion included gutting the walls down to the studs and starting from scratch. We were responsible for the general carpentry work, rough electrical and framing, insulation, sheetrock, installation of the new entry door, cabinets, interior and exterior painting, exterior siding, flooring, and post-construction cleaning. A challenge we encountered was the existing framework was not “centered on 16” (did not have a stud every 16 inches). This increased the number of rough framing fabrications and adjustments needed prior to the sheetrock being installed. I am extremely proud of my team and they handled delays and setbacks. They stayed focused on the task and kept a growth mindset. This mindset proved to be exactly what we needed to finish strong! The end result is something that both the client and my team are proud of. We hope that visitors to the new facility will appreciate the craftsmanship while enjoying their visit to the services that will be provided there.
